The structure of the Council is depicted in the organogram below. The Council is appointed by the National Minister of Public Works, ten (10) Councillors are appointed in terms of Section 4 of the Act, composed as follows: six (6) registered persons of which four (4) actively practise in the Project and Construction Management Professions; two (2) professionals in the service of the state; two(2) members of the public nominated through an open process of public participation.
The Executive Committee is composed of the President of the Council, the Finance Chairperson and any two (2) members of the Council. The Registrar is responsible for implementing the strategy and manages the daily functioning of the Council.

The Council has adopted the strategic objective of strengthening its ability to deal with the work of the SACPCMP. The focus will be on systems, management and administration to achieve excellence within three years. This will be measured by:

The RPL route of application follows two (2) phases:
In the first (1st) phase, you apply through the normal Council application process, submitting your reports. The assessors will then assess your competencies acquired and identify the category you best fit, CPM or CM. If perceived competent you will then be recommended for RPL..
