Theme

Constructing an Ethical Built Environment

This year's Conference will present the theme of 'Constructing an Ethical Built Environment', with a view to driving the need for professional competency within the sector, through good governance, critical skills development, and meaningful responsibility towards the Built Environment. This is especially enhanced by the professional registration of Social Facilitators, which will seek to enhance stakeholder engagement, while deterring criminal intentions towards our Construction Sector.

The requirements and competencies related to the professionalization of Social Facilitation will be included in the conference programme, in addition to issues that are responsive to public and social interest within the Built Environment, including but not limited to transformation and diversity, digitisation and AI, and environmental sustainability.

All programme content and information will support issues that are key to the development of professionals who are able to respond to the challenges and opportunities presented by the Construction Industry. Conference presentations and speaker topics will look to discuss:

  • Construction Disasters and Ethics - the Ethical Duty to Monitor from 'plan-to-site'.
  • Ethical Leadership in Crisis Management.
  • Social Facilitation - Involving Communities as an Ethical Imperative.
  • Balancing Profit and Principles.
  • Ethics in the Age of AI.
  • Whistleblowing - Moral Duty or Professional Betrayal?
